Caterham Celebrates 60th Anniversary with Retro-Inspired Model 11.09.2017 09:16

Caterham has unveiled a new model that will be limited to just 60 units.

To celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Caterham Seven, the British automaker has introduced the Seven SuperSprint, powered by a three-cylinder 95-horsepower engine. The retro-inspired model “harks back to a time when the true gentleman racer would drive to the track, go racing and drive home again,” Caterham says.

It is offered in six different 1960’s inspired paint schemes, all of which are named after iconic and historic race tracks such as Hockenheim, Imola, Watkins Glen, and Zandvoort. Buyers can choose from either a two-seater, or a single-seater complete with tonneau cover for those looking for maximum weight reduction.

Along with unique number roundels and period racing decals, the Caterham Seven SuperSprint boasts a wooden-rimmed sports steering wheel, Brooklands aero windscreen, bespoke 1960’s-inspired battery master cut-off switch, and quilted stitched seats finished in Innes Tan, Scottish Muirhead leather with matching gear lever and handbrake gaiters.

Caterham says the Seven SuperSprint hits 60 mph from a standstill in 6.91 seconds, on its way to a top speed of 100 mph.
